A Day in My Life

Every weekday I wake up at 6:30 am, wishing it was the weekend already. I change into my school uniform and brush my hair. While I'm doing that I always hear my dad yelling at me and my siblings from downstairs, "Get down, it's late!" Everyday it's the same thing, I guess he doesn't get used to it. I go to the kitchen and eat breakfast quickly, then I hurry upstairs to my room so I can brush my teeth before the carpool arrives; or on the days it's our turn, it's time to leave. I go to school and depending on the day, have a different schedule; I still haven't learned it. I go to my classes and when the final bell rings, I go home.
I get to my house at almost 3 pm, because I don't live that close to school and I eat with my family; except for two of my brothers that stay at school and eat there so they can go to soccer practice afterwards. After I eat, I go upstairs to my room and start some homework. If it's a Monday or a Wednesday I keep on doing some homework (and getting distracted by my cellphone) until I have to leave for my hip hop class, which is at 6:15 and I get back home at about 7:40. If it's a Tuesday or Thursday I have ballet at 5pm and afterwards jazz so I get home at about 7:30. Then I finish up my homework. On Fridays I don't have any class, so I love them.
Sometimes I think my life would me much easier if I didn't have dance classes in the afternoon, I'd have much more time to get my schoolwork done and just relax. About 2 years ago, I tried being only in ballet, this way it would only be 2 classes a week of one hour. I had a lot of time to read or watch Netflix or just waste time; but I missed dancing a lot, so I decided to return to all three classes next year. And even though I have less free time... I love dancing, so for me it's worth it.

  1. Dany- I like how you tell us about your day! I feel like I can hear your voice when you say the little asides like, I keep getting distracted by my cellphone. I think that you could make it a little more interesting by making your reader care more. It's great that we know what your week is like, but what's the point? Is your repetitive schedule and annoying school work worth it because you get to dance 4 times a week? Do you think that you still find joy in these redundant schedules? Try to make some sort of message and your post will be perfect. Thanks for sharing though :)
